When I first posted my story about Jocelyn Voltaire on Wednesday, there was a passionate response both here on Daily Kos and around the internet.
To sum up: Jocelyn is a single mother of 3 kids living in Queens Village, NY. She is originally from Haiti, became an American citizen, worked 3 jobs through college, and was able to purchase her home in 1987.
Her dream was shattered when she fell victim to the predatory lending scam of Litton Loan Servicing (now owned by Goldman Sachs). The price of her mortgage sky-rocketed and, earlier this year, she was told her home would be foreclosed.
Weeks after that, she was informed her son who was serving in Iraq, was dead.
